The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has extended its contract with Northrop Grumman to provide logistics support for its AN/AAQ-28(V) Litening advanced targetin pods. The pod systems are used to provide airborne targeting designation capability for the service’s Boeing F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets.

The contract is the second four-year extension of the agreement between the RAAF and Northrop Grumman. Under the terms of the award, Northrop Grumman will continue to provide in-service support for the RAAF’s targeting pods and data links at RAAF Air Force Base Williamtown and RAAF Air Force Base Tindal.
