Russian Helicopters JSC (part of Russian conglomerate Russian Technologies State Corporation, or ROSTEC) announced it will supply the Egyptian Navy with 46 Ka-52K Alligator naval reconnaissance and combat helicopters aimed to equip the service’s two BPC (Bâtiment de Projection et de Commandement) projection and command ships acquired from French shipbuilder DCNS in October 2015.

A large agreement for delivery of helicopters has been signed with Egypt through Russian state-owned weapons trading company JSC Rosoboronexport (also part of ROSTEC). Deliveries are expected to be completed before the end of 2017. The two ships were built in France by STX France and DCNS and were initially procured by JSC Rosoboronexport for the Russian Navy in June 2011.
