Thales has announced two contracts for the supply of a full spectrum of above-water and underwater solutions for two Bang Rachan-class minehunters (HTMS Bang Rachan and HTMS Nong Sarai) and Krabi-class offshore patrol vessels of the Royal Thai Navy (RTN).

Thales will be responsible for the revised vessel design, repairs and modernisation, the procurement of equipment and the platform integration on Bang Rachan-class minehunters. It include installing machinery control system, navigation systems, upgraded communications capabilities, TSM 2022 MkIII sonar with M-CUBE command and control system. Thales will also provide training and integrated logistic support.

The HTMS Krabi patrol ship to be built by Bangkok Dock, will be equipped with Thales’ TACTICOS combat management system and an integrated bridge and navigation suite, VARIANT surveillance radar, STIR 1.2 EO Mk2 fire control radar and VIGILE electronic support measures system with chaff launcher, tactical data link system LINK-Y Mk2 and all internal and external communication systems. Thales also will be responsible for all integration activities, including the 76 mm gun, 30 mm gun systems and RGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile. The ship is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2018.
