The Danish government published their recommendation that Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II fighter jet should replace the Lockheed Martin F-16A/M Fighting Falcon aircraft currently fielded by the Royal Danish Air Force.

The country’s Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence recommended that Denmark acquires 27 aircraft.

The F-35A Lightning II jet was selected over SAAB Aeronautics Gripen NG, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug Typhoon and Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft.
