Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control recently completed rapid delivery of 14 Sniper ATP (Advanced Targeting Pod) targeting pods to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF), outfitting a squadron in support of urgent mission requirements. Initial training, spares and support equipment were also provided.
The RNLAF selected Sniper ATP system to equip its F-16 fleet in 2015. Contract requirements include 29 Sniper ATP pods, spares, support equipment and sustainment. Deliveries will be complete in first quarter 2017.
Sniper ATP detects, identifies, automatically tracks and laser-designates small tactical targets at long ranges. It also supports employment of all laser- and GPS-guided weapons against multiple fixed and moving targets.
