The United States State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale to Argentina for 24 Beechcraft Defense T-6C+ Texan II advanced training aircraft. The estimated cost is USD300 million, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced 3 August 2016. The fleet is aimed at to improve the Argentina Air Force training capability.

The package requested by the government of Argentina also includes the supply of engines, spare engines, initial spare parts, support equipment, communications equipment, studies and surveys, contract logistics support and technical services, technical publications, ferry and support, life support equipment, initial maintenance training, initial pilot training, follow-on training, alternate mission equipment, modifications and engineering change proposals, ground-based training system, operational flight trainer and related spare parts.
