The Convention Center Ulysses Guimarães in Brasília, Brazil will host the 4th BID Brasil defence industry exhibition from September 27 to 29. The event organized by the Brazilian Defense and Security Industry Association (ABIMDE) will be attended by Brazilian Minister of Defence Raul Jungmann, Foreign Affairs Minister Jose Serra and the Minister of Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
It is supported by the Ministry of Defence, Brazilian Armed Forces and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Agency (Apex-Brasil).
More than 80 companies have already booked an exhibition space. Confirmed exhibitors include Avibras, Agrale, Embraer DS, Iveco Latin America, Thales together with its local operation Omnisys, Saab, Rockwell Collins, Poly Defensor, Guartelá, BCA Têxtil, IMBEL, Vertical do Ponto, CBC, Taurus, GESPI, IACIT, IAI do Brasil, Columbus, RUAG, Condor NLT, Elvi Cozinhas, Glagio, BR Defesa, AEL Sistemas, Akaer, ARES, EMGEPRON, RF Com, FT Sistemas, ALTAVE, Technicae, Atrasorb, IMBRA, CONSUB, Fundação EZUTE, Amazul CTMSP, and OPTOVAC (part of French Sagem).
The Brazilian army, navy, air force, homeland security and firefighter forces also will be displaying their latest developments.
Weapon systems on display will include Gripen NG fighter jet, Marruá 4×4 utility vehicle, VBTP-MR Guarani 6×6 armoured vehicle, modernized Urutu 6×6 armoured vehicle and ASTROS II Mk6 rocket launching system.
