BAE Systems announced it has signed a contract with the Australian authorities to further refine its design of the Type 26 GCS (Global Combat Ship) frigate for the Royal Australian Navy under the nation’s Sea 5000 program for the acquisition of combat frigates.

To assist this process, the company has revealed that, a 3D visualisation suite will be delivered to help improve features of the ship design.

Australia has also entered into similar agreements with Fincantieri of Italy and Navantia of Spain.
