The Brazilian firm ARES Aeroespacial e Defesa (owned by Elbit Systems of Israel) has developed the REMAN (REparo MANual) manually-operated protected weapon station.
A first conceptual prototype was already built. It is being shown at BID Brasil 2016 event being held between 27-29 September in Brasília, Brazil.
The REMAN system can be armed with 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 12.7mm machine gun or 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
It is available in several configurations for installation in armoured vehicles.
The Brazilian Army is scheduled to issue a tender aimed at to acquire hundreds manually-operated protected weapon station for its 4×4 and 6×6 armoured vehicles.
