The French shipbuilder DCNS could eventually unveils the new SUBTICS 2020 (Submarine Tactical Integrated Combat System) submarine combat management system (CMS) at EURONAVAL 2016 naval and maritime international exhibition to be held in Le Bourget, France 17-21 October.
The SUBTICS series CMS system is currently fielded by numerous conventional attack submarines including Scorpène submarines of Chile and Malaysia and upgraded 209 series submarines, and has been selected for four SBR submarines purchased by Brazil and the six P75 submarines for India. Note that the six Suffren-class Barracuda nuclear-powered submarines DCNS will deliver to French Navy will be fitted with the company’s SYCOBS combat management system. So far, only four submarines were ordered. First unit, FS Suffren is due for delivery in 2018. They will be armed with DCNS F21 heavyweight torpedo, MBDA Exocet SM39 Block Mod 2 anti-ship missile and MBDA MdCN land-attack cruise missile.
