Kongsberg Defense Systems, Lockheed Martin, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, MBDA and Diehl Defence have submitted offers to the Czech Ministry of Defence to supply the country with a land based truck-mounted medium-range air defence missiles system.

It is believed Kongsberg Defense Systems proposed the NASAMS system, Diehl Defence the IRIS-T SLM, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems the SPYDER MR solution.

Several batteries of a new system will gradually replace the country’s existing 2K 12M KUB M (SA-6 Gainful in NATO) air defence system.

The launchers and fire control units will be likely mounted to high-mobility 6×6 or 6×4 wheeled chassis of Tatra Trucks.
