The United States State Department approved sales of 40 Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter jets (32 single-seats and eight twin-seats) to Kuwait and 72 Boeing F-15QA fighter jets to Qatar. Both possible acquisitions under the UE foreign military sales process were recently announced by the United States Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

The possible foreign military sale to Kuwait worth approximately USD10.1 billion also include F414-GE-400 engines and spares, AN/APG active electronically scanned array radars and a slew of weapon systems, including 20mm guns, 240 guided missile launchers, AN/ALR-67(V)3 radar warning receivers, 12 AN/AAQ-33 Sniper targeting pods, Link-16 datalink systems, conformal fuel tanks, support and logistics services.

The sale for the Qatar Emiri Air Force is worth approximately USD21.1 billion and includes the aircraft, associated weapons systems, training, maintenance support equipment, and logistics support, among other.
