Poland is looking to purchase 70 Lockheed Martin JASSM-ER (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles Extended Range) missiles for its F-16C/D Fighting Falcon fighter jets. The potential acquisition for Polish Air Force was approved by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), which notified US Congress on the possible foreign military sale.
The estimated cost of the deal is USD200 million and includes missiles designed for testing as well as simulators. The contract would also include integration, spares and repair parts, and training and contractor-supplied engineering, technical and logistics support.
Poland already purchased the non-extended range version of JASSM in 2014.
