BAE Systems rolled out its first AMPV (Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle) tracked multirole vehicle prototype for the US Army. The company was awarded a contract to build 29 vehicles in five variants. The first vehicle is of the general purpose variant. The type will progressively replace the M113 tracked armored carriers.
