The U.S. State Department cleared a foreign military sale of military hardware for Taiwan, worth up to USD1.3 billion.

The package requested by Taiwan calls for technical support for early warning radar surveillance, supply of AGM-154C JSOW Joint Stand-off Weapon) SM-2 Block IIIA and AGM-88B HARM (High-Speed Anti-Radiation) missiles and MK 48 6AT heavyweight torpedoes, as well as upgrade kits to convert MK 46 Mod 5 lightweight torpedoes to type MK-54 and to modernize AN/SLQ-32A(V23) electronic warfare systems.

The sale must be cleared by U.S Congress and then go through actual negotiations.
