The Brazilian Ministry of Defence headed by Celso Amorim is to announce today December 18 at 17H00 pm local time, the winner of the FX-2 program for the acquisition of combat aircraft.

FX-2 program calls for the acquisition of 36 combat aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force (Força Aérea Brasileira). Proposals were received from Boeing and the U.S. Navy with the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, Rafale International (Dassault Aviation, Thales and Safran) with the Rafale and Saab with JAS-39 Gripen aircraft.
